Assessing the Palestinian Experience in Using Household Water Treatment Systems: Hebron Governorate as a case study

Abstract

In the West Bank especially in Hebron Governorate, in the recent years the number of used household water treatment systems increased rapidly with about 5806 units (PCBs, 2017). This raises the need to study the application of these systems, and to assess their performance compared with the quality standards of the PSI and WHOguidelines.

Abstract 

Surface and ground water in Palestine like many Middle East countries is very limited, so special 

interest should be given to develop the water resources and develop these resources in order to 

enhance the living of the Palestinians. 

There is a huge amounts  of water in Al-Qilt catchment (about 67000 m3/hr as apeak discharge 

according to our hydrological model) and this amount of water is discharged without any
